Is Starting a YouTube Channel a Good Idea?

The answer is yes. With over a billion users, it’s never a bad idea to create a YouTube channel. YouTube offers significant ad revenue opportunities for creators, and if you build a market, you can discover various ways to monetize your channel and achieve financial independence.

I have multiple YouTube channels where I test different ideas. Maybe you can do the same. I recently launched a new channel called “Journey Vlogs,” where I document my efforts to start and grow a YouTube channel organically, without paying for ads or subscribers. It’s all about gaining one view and one subscriber at a time.

I’m using minimal equipment, starting with just a mobile phone, to show that anyone can start if they have an idea and aren’t afraid of what people think. I know that YouTube wants to keep people on its site, so long-form content is the way to go. Consistency is also crucial. There are more people who want to start YouTubing than those who actually do.

Of course, I aspire to become a YouTube partner and monetize all of my channels eventually. But honestly, it is hard. My advice is to be yourself, do what you like, and don’t try to manipulate the algorithm or think like a computer. YouTube’s algorithms do a great job of putting content in front of viewers based on their interests because they want you to stay on the platform.

If you’re curious about what you should do, just look at your own search history or watch history and start from there. Create content you want to see. I am my biggest fan to date, outside of my wife. Remember, one view matters, and one subscriber matters. Take it one day at a time and start.
