Intro
As we get ready for the play-In and playoffs for the 2023 season of the NBA, it is safe to say that every team has a chance to make it to the NBA Finals. I do not bet, however I will share with you who I am believing will move forward in the playoffs.
The West
Let's take a look at the western conference first. In the play-In I have the LA Lakers advancing to the number 7 spot and the New Orleans Pelicans advancing to the 8th and final spot of the western conference playoffs bracket. As we look at the projected matchups for the first round. I like the Pelicans upsetting the Nuggets in the first round in game 7. I have the Suns edging out the Clippers in another game 7 matchup. I have the warriors sweeping the Kings and the Lakers beating the Grizzlies in game 6 for another first round upset. So now we have Pelicans vs Suns and Warriors vs Lakers in the 2nd round. I like the Suns overcoming the Pelicans in 6 games and the Warriors defeating the Lakers in game 7. Now we have the western conference finals, I like the warriors beating the Suns in 6 games. In conclusion of the west I find it hard to count the defending champs out. I still believe they are the strongest team in the western conference.
The East
In the Eastern Conference bracket I got the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat advancing to the last 2 spots in the east. In the 2nd round I have Milwaukee sweeping Chicago, New York defeating Cleveland in 7 games, Philly sweeping Brooklyn, and Boston beating Miami in 6 games. For the Eastern Conference Finals I Milwaukee taking on Boston only to beat them in game 7.
The Finals
Now we are down to the 2 best teams in the NBA, Golden State and Milwaukee. This was my preseason match up and I've stuck with both teams all season. This Finals will be one to remember. It will go 7 games and come down to the last shot and Steph Curry will hit the game winner. He will get ring number 5 and his 2nd Finals MVP. Some will regard Steph as the Goat of this current generation after this victory.
